HIGHER VISION is a Bluegrass Gospel group based out of eastern Kentucky that thoroughly enjoys and believes in what they do. Some of the things that make them so successful is their love for the Lord and willingness to work hard to accomplish common goals. They are like a family that travels and performs. Visitors to their record table always state that they enjoy the show even more because the band enjoys playing and working with the crowd. Three out of the five current band members have toured over the last fourteen years together. They have traveled from the Mississippi coast up to Prince Edward Island, Canada and all points in between. On December 15, 2006 they performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY as part of "Appalachian Christmas" presented by Christian Music Presenters. In 2001 the International Bluegrass Music Association nominated them as Emerging Artist of the Year. They showcased that same year at the International Bluegrass Music Association World Tradeshow. They have had articles in both Bluegrass Unlimited and Bluegrass Now magazines as well as numerous other Bluegrass and Gospel magazines. They are endorsed by Christian Music Presenters out of Nashville, Tn. Some of the great musicians and groups they have shared the stage with include an opening performance for MCA recording artist Lee Ann Womack along with more great acts such as Alison Krauss, Bill Monroe, the Osborne Brothers, Jimmy Martin, Blue Highway, Nickel Creek, Ralph Stanley, the Lewis Family, Charlie Waller and the Country Gentlemen, the Isaacs, Paul Williams and many others. Their latest recording "Lifetime Guarantee", features strong lead vocals, smooth harmony blends and crafty musicianship. The project consists of original songs written by band member Dedria Morgan and friends of the band. It also includes some traditional songs that carry a timeless message. They are currently in the studio working on a new project. The dedicated members that make up Higher Vision are Rob Morgan (mandolin, lead and harmony vocals from Booneville, Ky.), Dedria Morgan (songwriter, bass, lead and harmony vocals from Booneville, Ky.), Ronnie Merrill (guitar and harmony vocals from Hamilton, Oh.), Jon Anderson (banjo from Annville, Ky.) and newest member Jina Amis (fiddle, lead and harmony vocals from Vincent, Ky.).
